Mucking Out
An unknown pupil barrows out some muck from the stables (wearing his school uniform!). The muck would have been used on the vegetable gardens which were cultivated by the boys.
The tree in the background is Adam, the ancient oak, and the curved roof of the activities hut can be seen around the corner of the yard wall. In the background is the line of open fronted barns and the large hay barn. All of these were to be demolished in the next 10 years.
