Ready for the trip to Bishopthorpe Palace.
Left to right - Lloyd-Jones, Fosdick, Petty, Atkinson, Vincent, Newenham, Ridsdall Smith, Pike.
A story is told of this trip that, in a letter home, Vincent reported they were shown around the Palace by one of the Archbishop's 'flunkeys'. The letter was rather carelessly published in the School magazine where the Archbishop read the account. He was so offended that he wrote to the headmaster, Cyril Lemprière, and demanded an apology.
