The Showroom and Estate Toilets

This building has had an eventful life. The southern part was originally the old kitchen garden wall and in the 19th century the other three walls and roof were added to form a line of store rooms, workshop and stable facing the river. In the 20th century it evolved into a carpentry teaching workshop and then into the more recent Pre-Prep classroom and toilets linked to the main classroom block. After the demolition of the classrooms in 2002 the building looked rather scarred and closer inspection revealed some rot in the roof timbers and strange brick and block work in its southern wall. The slate roof was replaced with new pantiles and the old slates were then put into store. The building to the east (previously known as the old tractor shed) was rebuilt in 2003 to become a line of garages and the roofs were joined to form a handsome L-shaped construction.

In 2004 the old classroom was converted to an office/showroom. The slates from the roof were finally used in the renovations of the old stable building roof in February 2007.
