This long term project was undertaken to increase the grazing area for the new livery horses. The old games pitches provided 10 acres of flat grassland which needed to be divided into suitably sized paddocks with direct access into each and also an area for the caravans. This was achieved over the winter months of 2002-3 and involved using around 400 posts and rails, 5 gates and 150m of road. We also had to incorporate a system of electric fencing to allow the paddocks to be divided up into smaller areas when needed.
When designing the paddock size we had to take into account space needed for other activities such as polocrosse and One Day Events.
All that remains of the sports field is the cricket pavilion which is sadly fenced off awaiting, perhaps, a future use.
