As the focus of Red House activities has changed we needed to divide the estate up into more distinct areas - a residential and another for equestrian events and caravans. With the old road layout, too many horse boxes and trailers ended up parked around the main building and cottages. We plan to build a new road across the old games pitches and then across the deer park into the old orchard, giving access to the caravan area, manege and livery stables. On the site of the old gymnasium a large car park is to be built to cater for the equestrian traffic. A further benefit will be the reduction of the amount of mud covering the roads and paths near the house and cottages - a big relief for the residents!

Work began in March 2003 and the road now reaches across the old games pitches into the deer park.
